Welcome Ya'll. I'm glad you have chosen to peek into our family. This is an old blog that I have used to now update on my children and my family. I've been through so many changes, and so I've named this blog SECOND CHANCES. There are so many wonderful blessings that have come from all these second chances. Ill be posting more on here, and very little on Facebook. So make sure to bookmark this page and check it often to peek into our life. I'm going to try to update this with photos and such at least once a week. I want to try to stay off mainstream media and just allow those closest to us see our family goings on. So without further adieu, I'll start with second chances for furniture. Anyone that knows us, knows that we are not rich, and that we are doing double duty financially. That's ok though, we love the kids, and we will continue to do our best, and give them all that they need and some of what they want. We have done it for a long time now with no help and we will continue to do so. So anyway, we don't have a lot of extra money to buy new furniture, or new decorations when the kids grow older and their tastes become different. They really haven't had their rooms decorated untill now. We moved in and just kind of threw their rooms together, and sort of left it that way. But I decided that while they are away for the summer with their father, that I would take the opportunity to fix up their rooms, and clean everything out (as when they are home I can't throw anything out without a fight) and get rid of a lot of things that they no longer use, or that they have outgrown. I've also tried to simplify their rooms, and try to organize them so they have more space in them. I've repurposed dresser's, and nightstands. I've shopped the "broken" sections of the craft stores...things like the fancy black frame was 39$, but because it was broken badly, I got it for 7$ and fixed it so no one notices at all. I shopped many clearance racks, and dug through a lot of crap to put together their rooms. I think they turned out GREAT. The kids have seen bits and pieces, and they are so dang excited about them, and cant wait to come home and be in their rooms. More so they are just excited to come home and be home with Dad and I. So here you go, all the photos so far of their rooms. We still have to get Vanessa a guitar for school, so she will have a stand in her room so it can be put up after she practices, but for the most part their rooms are done, and closed up till they get home. Now I'm working on cleaning out the kitchen, and front room and just getting things cleaned. Its been nice to have this month off work, but I've already got a bunch of days scheduled for July. Hopefully I'll get more days at work. I'm only PRN, which means I get called in when others call off or call in sick. I like it, as it gives me the freedom to work when we need a little extra, but also allows me to say no, and stay home to take care of the family. Its the best of both worlds.

You are a great decorator like your mother.
Thank you so very much. That is a great compliment. I envy my mothers ability to decorate and make things beautiful.
Hi Amber, Aunt Sherrie sent me a link to your new blog. I'm excited to be in touch. I love all the clever things you are doing here. Keep up the great second chance theme. Life is all about 2nd chances for all of us. Love you! Aunt Jan
You have done such a great job !!! I'm glad I showed you how to manage money on a low budget yet show the kids what hard work does. You don't always have to buy new and you've shown that. Most importantly they see what true love actually means and their better kids for it. All 4 of you have changed my life and all for the better. All of my teaching is out of love for you all. The kids are so grateful and humble to have what they do and are so proud of their rooms !!! Simply BRAVO and Job well done your a great Mother
Thanks Aunt Jan. I'm honored that you're following me here. My second chances have not been without struggles, but the growth is so worth the rewards. I'm trying to get back to what I was taught as a child and the things I was always reminded of growing up.
Thank you sweetheart. You are the reason for the title of this blog for our family. You have given me a second chance st love, a second chance at a great family and a second chance to really find out who I truly am and where I'm going. You too are an amazing father and grandfather and I couldn't do any of this without you. Yes we are having to learn how to be more thrifty and I haveto learn how to not envy others and want what they have and try to match what they have. I'm learning to be happy with what I have and to enjoy life to the fullest. That is what this blog is all about. This is why I am using this outlet as my journaling and then will print it off at the end of the year. This way I have everything documented for our kids and grandkids to look back on. I love you. Thank you for my second chances.
