Braids, Strep and a Tag Your It...

Well this weekend has been most exciting. The girls have been begging me to have their hair braided in corn rows like all the little girls in their classes for years now. Problem is, people charge like 90$ to do it. Yah...like I'm going to spend almost 200$ on the two of them just to have their hair braided. Well anyway, here it is three years later, and they finally have gotten it done. NO I DIDN"T PAY 200$...I'm not that foolish. I'm a bargain hunter, and I found one. One of the teachers there at King Elementary that I interact with all the time has her own salon in her basement. She told me she would do the girls hair for ten dollars each. SOLD!! SO for twenty dollars and eight hours, both the girls got their hair done. I would have thought they would never sit still for that long, but sure enuf they did. They are so cute with them in. I'm wondering how they will look with them out, and I may have the lady do a perm on the two girls. Anyway, that was Friday (they had the day off from school). Then I woke up on Saturday feeling so miserable. I had a fever of 103, and that was with taking 1000mg. of Tylenol, and I had a bad sore throat, I couldn't talk it hurt so badly, and I didn't want to eat a thing. I couldn't handle how miserable I felt. I decided to go to the Instant Care at 8pm, and they decided to do a Strep test. They said it would take 6 min to do it. Apparently it didn't take that long for mine to show up, it was almost instant I guess. The Dr. looked at me and said that I have it pretty bad. SO she gave me a script for Zpack, and a refill on it just in case it doesn't completely go away after the ten days. I'm sure it will. I went to the pharmacy on the way home and they were closed, so I just went home. Will said I should go to a 24 hour pharmacy. I told him I didn't know where one was, so he looked one up for me, and seeing how I felt so miserable, he went and picked it up for me. What a sweet man. I took my antibiotic before I went to bed, and finally around 3am my fever broke, and I was able to sleep peacefully the rest of the night into the morning.OH MY GOSH...Do I feel so much better. It's like night and day. I still feel sick, and not fully myself, but man I tell you what, I am so grateful for medicine. I was at least able to function and be more of a mother and wife than I was on Saturday. Of course I had to stay home from church today so I wouldn't infect anyone else. And finally one of my friends tagged me with this fun A-Z self tidbits that I found fun. SO here you go. I have also put in some pics of our Hyacinths. I adore Lilacs, but because I am not going to be living here next year, I didn't plant any lilac bushes. So I decided to plant Hyacinths instead, and boy are they pretty, and smell so great. Too bad this isn't a scratch and sniff monitor..cause it would make you all want to run out and buy some of these Annuals.

I think that about my monitor all the time! I wish it were a scratch and sniif. Maybe Bill Gates will look into that...

Cute hair! I can't believe they sat for that long, mine don't even sit long enough to brush through most of the time.

I hope you get feeling better, that stinks!

The girls do look cute. When you finally get to move to the suburbs it will be strange for them not to be around a majority of African American little girls! The photos of your flowers are beautiful.
