MOVING!!

Well, here we are, in the midst of a semester in school, and busy lives, and now we add to that the hassle of moving. It's ok though, we are moving to a bigger and better place. Will's mom is coming to live with us, and so we needed a bigger place. We wanted her to feel like she still had a lot of her Independence, and yet be able to be around family, and Will wanted to be able to be there if anything were to happen to her. So we looked and looked. Let me tell you there are crappy and I mean crappy houses available when you are on Section 8. Thank goodness once Will graduates we don't haveto worry about Section 8. But for now we do. Finally after looking at about 7 houses that I would consider being shut down by the Health Department, we found it. This little house that sits on 1/2 an acre. It was a 5 bedroom house that had been converted into a duplex. Well the Landlord has now put the home back together, but left the additional kitchen and bathroom upstairs. So there is where Mom will be living now. She will have her own kitchen, front room, eating area, bedroom, bathroom, and living room. She also has a small window area that is long and narrow and extremely low ceiling, but its GREAT for the kids to play in. Then Downstairs where we will be living there is the kitchen a large dining room, a kitchen, a bathroom, a large storage room/pantry, and three bedrooms. There is also a very SMALL basement that was dug out from the crawl space for some more storage. The outside has a BIG area for a rather HUGE garden, and the Dogs will LOVE it. I wished we found this earlier, so that we would have had a head start on some fruit vines, but we will do that later this spring. It is an old house, so it does come with that 2inch thick plaster with probably 400 different shades of paint, but we get to pain the inside whatever colors we want to, so we are looking at different options now. It will be exciting to start this chapter in our lives. Everyone has essentially their own space, and no one should feel like they are being trampled on. Now if only I could motivate myself to pack boxes and get ready to move. BLAH!!!!!

Moving stinks, but looks and sounds like a great place for you to move to.

So when are you moving! That is so exciting for your family! You will have to give me some more details because this is pretty BIG!

Can I just say, we are quite jealous! At least in Alaska almost all houses have at least 1 acre. We are very excited for y'all. When do you move?

Amber,
Let me know what I can do to help you guys. Do you still need help cleaning? We will be sad if you can't be in the Branch anymore. Seriously though, let me know if I can do ANYTHING!

Sorry folks, we forgot to tell you all WHEN this happens. Our lease is ending early, on March 1st. Selden let us out of our lease early (it was to end on May 31st). But we needed to get my Mom moved out here over my Spring Break (March 9th - 14th). So we are hoping the Housing Inspection, etc., is all finished by then.

That house sounds like it was just meant for you. You can't get a better set up than separate living areas. I bet the kids will love the yard and Will can try out his green thumb again. I am so happy for you.

This sounds perfect. I'm glad Will's mother will have a bit of privacy and her own space.
