The Princess Party

Well we just had the BIG Princess Party. We invited all the little girls in Sabrina and Vanessa's class. Told them all not to bring presents so that they wouldn't feel like they couldn't come. We had lots of fun. Here is how the day went. Each princess had been asked to wear their loveliest princess dress. Then they were dropped off at our home where they had received these lovely princess crowns and a magic princess wand. They then came in and got some pretty lip gloss on, and some pretty blush. So now they were real princesses. Then we all played pin the crown on the princess. After that they all got some mardi gras silver beads to wear. We then played the game Royal Message Relay, which is just the same as the old fashioned game of Telephone. After that each princess got a lip gloss ring to wear. Then we all adjourned to the royal kitchen where they all decorated their royal cakes. After that being set aside, they made their very own candy princess necklaces. Then they sat down to the royal luncheon of Strawberry soda, Homemade Pink rolls with Chicken salad in them and some Doritos. Then they ate their royal cakes they decorated and ate them with pink ice cream. After that they had the breaking of the royal pinata.
They all the little princess wanted to play dance freeze, so we put on some funky 80's music, and let them dance. Boy some of them have got the moves going on. After which each little girl received their goody bag to take home to remember the party by that contained: a lip gloss, four bracelets, some bubbles, two sheets of stickers, 2 more strands of Mardi Gras beads, some candy, and another princess necklace activity to do at home.

The cleanup wasn't very hard either. Just roll up the plastic tablecloths, and throw away. I do haveto say it was really fun, but boy an I tired, and want to curl up for a nap again, and it's Sunday. It really made me tired for some reason, but to see my girls have so much fun was sooooooo worth it. Now for Isaacs party...we are planning for the place where they have all these inflatables indoors and they give you icecream and cake with your party. We will see though.

MOVING!!

Well, here we are, in the midst of a semester in school, and busy lives, and now we add to that the hassle of moving. It's ok though, we are moving to a bigger and better place. Will's mom is coming to live with us, and so we needed a bigger place. We wanted her to feel like she still had a lot of her Independence, and yet be able to be around family, and Will wanted to be able to be there if anything were to happen to her. So we looked and looked. Let me tell you there are crappy and I mean crappy houses available when you are on Section 8. Thank goodness once Will graduates we don't haveto worry about Section 8. But for now we do. Finally after looking at about 7 houses that I would consider being shut down by the Health Department, we found it. This little house that sits on 1/2 an acre. It was a 5 bedroom house that had been converted into a duplex. Well the Landlord has now put the home back together, but left the additional kitchen and bathroom upstairs. So there is where Mom will be living now. She will have her own kitchen, front room, eating area, bedroom, bathroom, and living room. She also has a small window area that is long and narrow and extremely low ceiling, but its GREAT for the kids to play in. Then Downstairs where we will be living there is the kitchen a large dining room, a kitchen, a bathroom, a large storage room/pantry, and three bedrooms. There is also a very SMALL basement that was dug out from the crawl space for some more storage. The outside has a BIG area for a rather HUGE garden, and the Dogs will LOVE it. I wished we found this earlier, so that we would have had a head start on some fruit vines, but we will do that later this spring. It is an old house, so it does come with that 2inch thick plaster with probably 400 different shades of paint, but we get to pain the inside whatever colors we want to, so we are looking at different options now. It will be exciting to start this chapter in our lives. Everyone has essentially their own space, and no one should feel like they are being trampled on. Now if only I could motivate myself to pack boxes and get ready to move. BLAH!!!!!

Nessie with Aslan at 11 weeks old

Nessie with Rommel at 12 weeks old

I thought this was so cute. Look how similar these two photos are. I found it to be a cute moment. As a side note....Both dogs ADORE Nessie. It's like we have our own "Dog Whisperer" in out family.

Nessie and Sabrina's Birthday Present!!

Here is the girls birthday present. They got to pick the name and everything. They call him Aslan. This is from the Narnia movies. He is colored about like the lion anyway. He is a VERY well tempered pup, and is partly potty trained. He has learned how to whimper when he needs to go outside to potty. The people we got him from were very nice, and extremely knowledgeable. He is in great shape. I have included some photos. The last photo is of his one year old brother, and so Aslan should look like this when he gets older. Rommel adores him, and has taken him under his paw. Rommel will bring Aslan toys and drop them in front of him, and then sit there and wait for Aslan to play with them. They are so cute together. Aslan HATES stairs, and so I think Rommel does about 400 stairs to every 2 of Aslans, since Rommel goes up and down to show Aslan how its done. We will get him there soon enuf. All the kids LOVE Aslan, and her makes a perfect addition to our family. Enjoy the pics!!
