Its been so long since I posted. So sorry for that. So here is one. I have been helping Isaac learn how to ride a bike this weekend, and let me tell you that little guy is determined. He wouldn't get off it till he could ride it. And he has the poor legs to show for it.
I feel like a bad mom though. I didn't get one picture of him actually riding the bike. I guess because I was holding onto the back of him running up and down the street as he was learning to ride. And I would get one of him now, except for we had a bit of an accident.
He was taking the bike out for a spin one last time before dad was going to take the training wheels off, and as he was coming back, Nessie was riding her bike as well. I don't know exactly what happened, but one thing led to another and both of them somehow lost balance, and crashed into one another. Now luckily NO ONE was hurt, and NO ONE broke anything, however I can not say the same about the bikes. You know how a bike looks all bent up after its been hit by a car. YEP that's how the bikes looked. Somehow their bikes intertwined, and the two kids ended on top of the bikes and on top of each other, and bent the bikes beyond repair. It was sort of freaky. The tire on one (metal part) was bent over in half, and the fork on the other bike (part that hold the front tire on) was bent over to one side. Neither bike is fixable, and so we will be going to Walmart to buy more bikes for them. It was a sad time. Neither of them were crying because they got hurt. They were both crying because their bikes got ruined and they wouldn't be able to ride bikes anymore. It was a sad, happy, and funny moment for me all rolled up into one.
Anyway, on another note, Sabrina has been doing great with her weight loss journey. I will post some photos for you to see her great progress. She has lost over 45 lbs so far, and is still losing. She is amazing, and keeps me motivated to continue to help myself as well. I love her so much. She is turning into such a lovely little lady. I'm afraid I'm going to have to start carrying a baseball bat in my purse to fight off the boys. So far she still has no interest in them, and I LIKE IT THAT WAY.
We have all been training (sort of) so that we can hike up to Timp when we visit in July. We have been looking at cave pictures, and learning about what forms caves and such. They are really excited to go. Me, I've been training at the gym, since there are NO MOUNTAINS here. And I figured it out. The Timp hike is about a 15-20 percent incline, and that is what I've been working on at the gym on the treadmill. I've been using my hour to put the treadmill incline all the way up to the max (15) and hike at a 3mph. Now I know Timp is only 1 1/2 miles, and so I'm walking it way fast right now, but I also am almost at sea level, and in an air-conditioned area. Add the altitude and heat, and I'm about where I need to be. I refuse to have anyone push or carry me, and I will make it up. Last time I hiked it, I think I was Sabrina's age. 11. So now I'm about 26+ years older, and so I'm sure that will play into it as well. But for my kids to get to see such beauty and wonder, I'm doing it no matter what.
Well have a great day, and I will post more later. :-)
