Wow, I can't believe how long it has been since I have updated this blog. I feel so bad since I know this is how a lot of you keep tabs on us out of towners. Anyway I will try to keep this brief, as I am super busy right now with end of school year orders. I guess first off we are all doing ok. No major health issues to report.
Will had surgery on his legs about a month ago. We found that as he has lost weight, that due to standing a lot his large veins were collapsing and as a result causing much pain. So we went to the AZ heart institute, and had them "fix" the issue. So he had surgery on both his legs, and came through it just fine, and now is able to stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours) without pain. Yes the glamour of being a Pharmacist here in Yuma is that there are no overlapping or coverage for you except for your vacations when they pull someone in from out of town to cover your shift. So as a result you eat your lunch as you quickly pass by a small counter in the back on the way to filling another script, and there are no breaks either. So he was and still is standing on his legs non stop for 8- 10 hours a day. He enjoys the job though, and is glad to have one with the economy here the way it is.
Sabrina is doing well. She is excelling in her studies, and was chosen to be Student of the Month last month. She was super proud of that fact since last months theme was academics. So instead of being chosen for other months where it was "Character Ideals" she was chosen for her academic scores and overall standing in the 4th grade. We are super proud of her and all that she has accomplished. She is one smart chicko, and very creative as well. Since I have opened up my little business she too wants to be just like me, and is at her school selling her little homemade jewelry. She has some very creative business strategies, and will grow up to be very business savvy.
Vanessa is doing well also. She has been recognized by the school as having some of the highest state test scores, and has gotten a few awards for that as well. She loves being outside in the sun, and just soaks it up. Will and I often tease her that she is just like a little mini Grandma Larsen. A California chick through and through. With her cool shades, big floppy hat, and popular clothing and swimsuit, she definitely can blend in perfectly when we go to the beaches there in San Diego.
Speaking of Beaches, we have gone a few times to San Diego over the last few months to escape the heat. Yes yes I know most of you are loving the weather right now, but here it has been 99- 106 already and Summer is just getting ready to start. So yes we have escaped to San Diego MANY times to go to Sea world (thank goodness for poor planning and such on Sea worlds part, and Yay me for seeing what a screaming deal the passes were that we got.....which by the way they no longer sell due to the fact that they have lost money on the promo, but are still honoring those of us that have the deal...you buy a season pass for the same price as a one day entry, and then every month for 7$ fee your pass in renewed indefinitely for life or till you stop paying.....so lets see hmmm for 35$ a month I have an unlimited pass with no black out dates that gets me into sea world forever, and gives me discounts on food and merchandise in the park...Um can we say great idea just didn't see how much they would loose on such a good deal.) We also have been spending a lot of time out in our backyard swimming in the pool and BBQ ing, since I don't want to heat up the house. Its gonna be exciting once the temps are truly up to season and its super hot.
Anyway and then there is Isaac. Hmmm well there is a lot going on with our little man. AS a lot of you know he is so stinking smart it baffles me most all the time. Well we had been having some issues at school and I wont bore you to death with all of them, but due to the issues we had to speak with the school district, his pediatrician, and the state. After many many tests and meetings, the conclusion is that Isaac has the brain power and concepts of a 5th /6th grader. He has been tested and labeled as a "gifted" child. Which is so exciting, and to be expected with such a smart father (a member of Mensa or shall I say former since we don't pay the dues anymore, and he was on meds that dulled and took away IQ points when he was younger...could you imagine his brain had he not had medical issues as a child) Anyway this is about Isaac. Unfortunately here in Yuma we are so isolated that there is no gifted or advanced program that the school district could put him into. He is very gifted as far as academically, but when tested in areas of emotional or age appropriate social structures, he is still at his current level and age of a third grader. He wouldn't be able to just skip ahead two grades. It would be detrimental to him emotionally even though the scholastic end of things would finally be able to challenge and help him learn. So after many meetings and all of this it comes down to homeschooling him with a tutor as well. So that is what we will be doing. So I guess I'm going to become a teacher after all. I guess it will work out well since I would be teaching Sabrina and Isaac the same things, and Vanessa is capable of learning and doing the higher work. So I will eventually be blogging about those endeavors a well over this next year.
And then there is me. I'm just busy trying to keep every ones schedule together, make meals, and keep a little bit of "fun money" in our pockets by my Vinyl Business. Here with such a small town there are no specialty home decor shoppes, and so Ive taken it upon myself to do it, and it has been working out very well. I have been very busy, and have met a lot of great people. If you want to look at some of the things I do, here is the link to my FB page.

Well, I better get back to working. Ive got 11 teacher cups due tomorrow and I need to finish them all up. Hope you all are doing well, and soon I'll post some pics of what we have been up to. We love you all and miss you all.
