Time for Science

This Friday Will has yet another required Manager meeting in Scottsdale, and so we will all be going.  Getting up at 4am and driving to get him there at the meeting at 8am.  But the up side of this, is that I get to spend an entire day with the kids, and we are going to be doing something really cool, fun and educational.  We are going to the Bodies:Exhibition.  It is where they Plasticine people who have volunteered for this, and show you all the insides of the human body.  All the kids are really looking forward to it.  Here are a coupe of photos from the exhibit.  Camera's are forbidden in the exhibit, and so I wont be posting any of us there, but I will write about it when we get back.

We are having a "Red Dinner"....What are you doing?

This is the statement that my children have been telling everyone. And when I mean everyone, I'm not kidding. They told the Gas station attendant, the Restaurant waiter, the grocery store clerk, a few workers at Will's job. People looked at me crazy, and so I ended up having to tell everyone what a "ed Dinner" was, and then they all thought I was the coolest mom ever, and they wanted to do something similar for their family. I for one CAN NOT take credit for this idea. My mother is the one who came up with this so many years ago. When I was a little kid, my mother was the best, and she wanted to make some of these lesser holidays be fun as well. So for Valentines day for s long s I can remember, my mother would make what we kids fondly call our "Red Dinner". She would make everything she could Red, or at the very least pink. We could usually guarantee that we were going to eat spaghetti, or lasagna, or something of the such, along with red food colored corn, and salad dressing, and pink french bread. Then around our plate there would be lots of candy, and cute little gifts. It was something that I absolutely LOVED as a kid, and it made the holidays more special. I love my mom for that. So as a mother now myself, I wanted to do the same thing for my kids, and so I have....EVERY YEAR. For the last 8 years....also I did it for the first two years of my marriage with just Will and I. It is a fun and memorable tradition that I'm sure my kids will carry on to their kids as well.

Food Coloring...Red dye no.5....an awesome little tool to help make such huge memories.

So without further adieu, here are the photos. However, This year is very special. The kids get not one, but TWO red dinners. We invited over one of Vanessa's good friends, and then the next night we invited over Will's co-worker. SO I am posting tonight's dinner now, and then tomorrow I will post the dinner with his work buddy.
