To School or Not to School...That is the question!

Well I found out some unhappy news today. The Yuma area government cut the schools spending just like the school thought. And so now there will be 41 to 1 student to teacher ratios in the classroom, and then no PE, music class, or art classes offered anymore due to the lack of budget and the poor area we are in. SO now here is the question. Do we as parents let our children fall behind on their studies and hope they don't fall behind others in the states on standardized testing (which the Yuma schools are currently testing at about the 51st percentile - just awful) or do we pay 12 thousand dollars a year for the three kids for private school, or do we get lesson plans, and home school them ourselves...which most of the LDS families are doing right now...so we hear. What is your opinion? Do we home school, and offer more advanced courses, and teach them things they wouldn't or couldn't learn in the public school, or what would you do in our situation? Any help would be greatly appreciated...by the way...with home schooling there are numerous groups organized by the school board with other home schooling parents for play dates and field trips and all of that. I NEED HELP, because I don't know what to do.
