What's your best pumpkin recipe?

Well, Amber can't find the camera since we went to the Iowa State Fair, so I don't have any updated pictures of the Rumbo squash taking-over the rest of the yard. But I do have at least 15 squashes of 15-20lbs EACH growing nicely. In fact, the vines are STILL putting-out female flowers; so I don't know when this will end. The vines are getting suspiciously close to my house, and I'm starting to get nervous. Isn't this how all those 1950's "B-movies" start? Hey, if you saw a recent picture...you'd be paranoid, too.

We've harvested a few of them already; and the next natural question is: "What do we do with all of them?". A fair question. We have a couple for decoration inside and outside the house; but I can see that "supply" easily out-strips "demand" in this case.

So... What are YOUR best recipes/uses for pumpkins? Please post your answers so that we can all share ideas. And if you want a "pumpkin" (and like the green color)...just stop-by. I'll be happy to pick you a fresh one...or three. On second thought...the best recipe/use posted gets a FREE Rumbo squash...just add $19.95 for shipping & handling...

I'm a pumpkin employee! YIPEE!

Yep, I'm a Vala's Pumpkin Employee. For those of you who don't know what Vala's pumpkin patch is, I have included a link to its website. Can I just say that this place is the mother of all Pumpkin Patches. It's like Disneyland meets the Pumpkin Patch. It is AWESOME!! Now, you may wonder why someone like me would want to work at the Pumpkin Patch. Well I will tell you. It's NOT for the money. The money is what will get my kids treats there, and gas for me to get there and from. I only work from September 20th to November 1st. But for that magical month, my kids will get to enjoy so much. As an employee I get a free season pass for my family. As many of you know it costs my family $75 just to get in the door. Then if we want any food, which trust me you DO (It's fantastic food) it's another 100$, and that's just for ONE visit. Now, my kids can go as many times as they want, and not have to worry about paying a dime. Plus not only do I get the free family season pass, but I get 10 passes to give to family and friends, and then I get unlimited train tickets for my family, and free food vouchers for my family, and free pumpkin vouchers for my family. All of this plus I get paid minimum wage (so it covers gas, and any additional food we want). Its a win win situation to give my kids the memories of a lifetime for me to work just a few hours a week for one month out of the year. So if ya see me there, say hi.

Here is the website link...feel free to poke around..its cool:
